As a Senior Manager of Sales,  UK&I, your mission is to build up and grow our footprint within the UK & Ireland region to support Personio becoming the leading cloud-based HR Management, Recruiting, and Payroll software for SMEs in Europe. We already have a really solid foundation in the UK built over the last 2 years and are looking to further accelerate our growth this year and beyond. The team is scaling and currently consists of 2 leaders and 14 account executives split across Dublin and London. This role will be focused on growing the team working with our largest customers while supporting the growth across the entire region at the same time. 


The Role: 

  • Act as a “founder” of Personio in the UK and Ireland;  You will be given autonomy to build up processes and scale the team as necessary to help Personio succeed in the market

  • Become a pioneer in transforming HR for SMEs across the UK and Ireland

  • Develop market intelligence by conducting research on market, competition and customers

  • Build up a network in the local HR ecosystem, across startups & the SME community and engaging with local media, events or potential partners

  • Own and execute the go-to-market strategy (lead generation, pipeline management, lead conversion)

  • Define the plan and strategy for Personio’s growth and test different channels to generate traction 

  • You will support a team of Team Leads and Account Executives focused on driving revenue for the region

  • You will be responsible for further building our customer base and research and understand customer requirements to feed into our product development 

  • Continue to grow the team and scale by hiring and developing great talent.

  • Exchange best practices with fellow sales leaders and align frequently with central core functions to constantly optimize efforts across all markets (Product & Engineering, Sales Strategy & Enablement, Marketing, Customer Experience, Talent Acquisition)

  • Learn from & exchange with other startups that had successful market entries in the UK

What you need to succeed
  • You have 10+ years of experience in sales, marketing and/or business development with a strong international background

  • A background in B2B SaaS and prior work experience in a fast-growing technology firm 

  • Experience in internationalization and leading a high performing sales organization

  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset and want to get things done. You are driven by impact and want to be measured by results

  • You're willing and able to personally be involved in supporting critical deals - calling, pitching, and negotiating

  • You demonstrate great presentation and communication skills in written and spoken in English

  • You have resided in London for several years and have developed a strong understanding of the local language, culture, and network

  • You are highly motivated and willing to learn

  • You are not afraid to make mistakes: you fail fast but you learn from them

  • You are able to work independently with scarce resources and are a team player

  • You are ready to travel between London and our other offices when necessary

  • You have a strategic mindset to build and execute a strategy to grow a market at pace over the long run. 

  • You can balance strong operational sales rigor with the here and now within a strategic plan


Bonus Experience:

  • Previous experience in HR Software 

  • Experience working in a scale-up environment
