As a Lead Engineer you will be a bar raiser in a mission-based team within the Personio Engineering organization, and take care of team productivity, technical, design and product alignments and technical growth. In this role, you will act as a multiplier for your team. You know how to address each challenge - coding hands-on to prototype a solution, holding technical presentations or conducting brainstorming sessions with engineers from other domains to tackle a certain problem - You know it best!!
This is a high impact role and you will be in the driving seat to create the long-term technical strategy for one of Personio’s main product components and represent the team in Personio’s Product, Design & Engineering department.
The People Workflow Automation domain automates people workflows across the employee lifecycle across different tools and teams, enabling HR to go beyond HR and win back valuable time through automation, time that can then be spent on and with people.
We are a cross-functional group of engineers, designers and product managers from many nationalities and backgrounds, spread across different locations, and we will continue to grow in 2022/23. Join us and help shape the People Workflow Automation journey for Personio — we are just getting started!
Create convenient tools and workflows to enable delivery teams to contribute to the design system (e.g. linter rules, pipelines, playground environments).
Collaborate and align effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, e.g., frontend engineers, product designers, product manager, and engineering manager.
Advocate adoption and lead implementation of PWA across entire teams.
Support engineers across delivery teams to unblock their UI library challenges.
Define and implement metrics to measure progress of the team towards the goals.
Enable teams to iterate faster by focusing on UX rather than UI and ensuring a smooth designer- and developer-experience
What you need to succeed
Concrete knowledge of TypeScript, React, SCSS, CSS Modules, Style Dictionary, Rollup, Webpack, Nx and monorepo among others.
A deep understanding of DOM, CSSOM, DOM events, Critical Render Path (CRP), semantic versioning, package distribution, client and server side rendering (CSR, SSR).
Proficient with different types of testing strategies for applications/components.
A DesignOps mindset with a proven track record of maintaining design systems.
Enthusiasm for building a technical strategy and translating it into reality.
Comfortable with breaking down large pieces of work into smaller deliverables.
Experience with micro-frontends, event-driven, and functional and reactive programming.
Very good communication skills to provide technical guidance and leadership.
Passion to enable your teammates and amplify their technical abilities by mentoring and coaching.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
