Head of SMB Sales - DACH

As a Head of Sales SMB (Small - Medium Business) Sales - DACH,  your mission is to continuously grow our domestic region  as the business scales from €100M and beyond in  Personio’s journey of  becoming the leading cloud-based HR Management, Recruiting, and Payroll software for SMEs in Europe. In this role you will report to the Vice President Sales and will be responsible for our Small and Medium Segment (companies of 1-200 employees).  In this strategic role there will be dotted reporting lines for regional markets, partnerships, and solution engineering, meaning a highly collaborative approach. The team currently has ~50 people and is a significant contributor to our overall revenues in Personio. 

The Role: 

  • Ensuring the team are set up to achieve ambitious targets and to continue to grow the DACH market at scale

  • Leading a team of 1st line leaders in a core segment of the DACH market, growing the market rapidly and at scale

  • Regular alignment with internal stakeholders such as VP marketing VP product and VP Sales to continue to drive significant impact across the market and grow the business

  • Create new growth levers and finding new ways to accelerate our business

  • Developing first line leaders within the team to become future senior leaders within our organisation

  • Own and execute the sales strategy (lead generation, pipeline management, lead conversion)

  • Define the plan and strategy for Personio’s growth and test different channels to generate traction 

  • Continue to grow the team and scale by hiring and developing great talent.

  • Exchange best practices with fellow sales leaders and align frequently with central core functions to constantly optimize efforts across all markets (Product & Engineering, Sales Strategy & Enablement, Marketing, Customer Experience, Talent Acquisition)

What you need to succeed
  • You have 10+ years of experience in sales, marketing and/or business development with a strong international background

  • A background in B2B SaaS and prior work experience in a fast-growing technology firm; preferably understanding sales and buying processes in B2B SMB (sub 2000 Employees)

  • Previously worked in an international environment while having deep expertise in the DACH market  
  • Data driven - Able to structure and process qualitative or quantitative data and has the habit to build data based hypotheses, make decisions based on data and thoroughly tracks quantitative results.
  • Brings a high level of energy, focus and drive to their work. Adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions. 
  • Constantly challenges him/herself to grow professionally.
  • Has a proven track record of working with and leading high performing teams, either in significant turnaround or fast scale-up environments
  • Has ambition to create a best in class sales function and make a significant impact in the work they do
  • Strong results focus to achieve ambitious growth targets on a consistent basis
  • Previously worked in an international environment while having deep expertise in the DACH market
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and German

  • Previous experience in HR Software
