As a Lead Frontend Engineer, you will be a bar raiser in our mission-based Payroll Core team within the Personio Engineering organization and take care of team productivity, technical alignment, and technical growth. In this role, you will act as a multiplier for your team. The mission of our team is to be the foundation of the Personio Payroll product by becoming the single source of truth for all payroll relevant incoming data and orchestrating all workflows.
Role & Responsibilities:
Driving the team's technical solutions, being a multiplier for an engineering culture of quality, good development principles, and innovation from inside your team
Be the technical go-to person in your team for technical and non-technical topics and stakeholders
Partnering up with the Engineering Manager on supporting the technical growth of the team
Mentoring engineers in your team and fostering the technical growth of your teammates with/by pair programming, knowledge sharing, and coaching
Sharing ideas on how to improve team internal and tribe-wide processes and collaboration to increase performance and productivity
Strategic technical involvement on a team level in the OKR process, hiring strategy, and team setup
Managing incident processes and team related follow-ups to ensure high product reliability, stability, and security

How we work:
- We are rebuilding our customer-facing solution from the ground up in a React-based micro frontend architecture
- The underlying architecture is mainly event-driven, so you can expect to work with non-blocking and optimistic UI concepts
- Evolvability and adaptability are core aspects of our solution, so we want to build adaptable UIs based on those requirements
- We want to maintain our established Personio user experience standardized while keeping our solution adaptable, so you can expect to leverage and contribute to our Design System for different UI building blocks
- We are establishing design and frontend on the forefront of our next step towards our target solution and architecture, so you can expect to contribute a lot to our Frontend culture and best practices by coaching and working together with our Senior Frontends and Staff/Lead Engineers
- We are a product company, so our teams are organized in a mission-based cross-functional fashion. You will work with other Engineers, Designers, Product Managers & Engineering Managers within and outside your tribe.
- We have a "you built it, you run it" attitude and CI/CD is our second nature - we use AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab to implement it!
