Performance Marketing Team Lead

The Role
The core mission of the Marketing Team is to generate valuable leads for the sales team, accelerate pipeline, increase win rates and to make Personio the leading HR brand in SMB.
As Team Lead Performance Marketing your role will be to manage and grow the performance marketing team, scale paid channels while ensuring best practices in lead generation & nurturing. You’ll be an expert in all things paid marketing for our Marketing Team, as well as the wider organization, enabling us to become true European champions.


  • You enable your team to deliver and implement an international performance marketing strategy to increase the number of leads and generated pipeline through various performance channels and marketing activities
  • You develop, promote and expand your team of performance marketers and establish them for our new customer acquisition efforts.
  • You manage the budget allocation and performance control for a 7-digit advertising budget per year in more than 10 countries
  • You map out how to drive down CAC, increase LTV, examine cohorts and dive deep into data to make an impact
  • You define, measure and evaluate critical KPIs for the performance marketing team. Create dashboards to demonstrate progress against those KPIs (in collaboration with GTM Ops) and communicate effectively the results and any actions associated with those results to key stakeholders
  • You oversee the monitoring of the online marketing environment and identify new opportunities for the expansion, personalisation and automation of our existing performance marketing measures
What you need to succeed
  • You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in data-driven online marketing roles with a focus on new customer acquisition and internalization of paid media campaigns
  • You have deep expertise in building a successful B2B paid marketing funnel
  • You have experience in managing/growing a small team in a performance marketing/paid media function.
  • You have experience working with complex data sets and tools (Google Analytics & Tag Manager) to make data-informed decisions and share thoughtful insights
  • You have experience in creating paid media plans from the ground up in scaling environments
  • You have experience in creating project plans to ensure campaign launch dates and goals are met
