We are looking for a seasoned Principal German Payroll Operations Subject-Matter Expert to play a pivotal role in driving the success of our Payroll Operations. As a subject-matter expert in German Payroll, you will collaborate across teams to enhance processes, resolve complex escalations, and support critical projects. This individual contributor role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on payroll functionality, influencing strategic outcomes and ensuring operational excellence. 

Role Responsibilities: What you'll do
  • Act as the subject-matter expert (SME) in German payroll: Providing expert guidance and technical support across the organization.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams to support payroll-related inquiries and optimize payroll product functionalities. Partner with the sales team to offer technical expertise during discussions with prospective clients.
  • Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to refine and enhance internal payroll processes, driving operational excellence.
  • Payroll Enablement: Work alongside the Payroll Enablement team to create and update internal and client-facing documentation.
  • Problem Solving: Oversee and resolve high-priority customer escalations with a focus on timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Strategic Projects: Lead and manage strategic projects, ensuring alignment with the broader payroll operations objectives.
  • Third-Party Relationship Management: Manage relationships with vendors, tools, and platforms to ensure smooth service delivery.
Role Requirements: What you need to succeed
  • 8+ years of extensive experience as a subject-matter expert in German payroll, with a deep understanding of German payroll regulations and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, influencing without authority and driving consensus among diverse teams.
  • Proven experience managing external partnerships, with a strong focus on aligning external vendor performance with internal needs.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written in German and English, with the ability to simplify complex payroll concepts for a wide audience, including clients and internal stakeholders.
