As Lead Payroll Operations, your team provides a best-in-class payroll service for Personio Payroll customers, including the implementation of the product, ad-hoc support, and monthly check-in calls. You collaborate with all teams of Payroll Operations to continuously enable your own people, improve our processes and identify product/market gaps in Personio in order to improve them.

Role Responsibilities: What you'll do
  • Satisfaction of Personio Payroll Customers: You are responsible for the satisfaction of a defined portfolio of our Personio Payroll customers through high-class software implementations and ongoing payroll support.
  • Team Development: You will hire, and lead a team of up to 25 Payroll Specialists, ensuring their continuous training to improve quality, efficiency and overall performance. 
  • Operational Support: You will coordinate your team’s capacity management and day-to-day operations, while getting involved in customer interactions as go-to expert in case of complex customer needs, and escalations.
  • Process Improvements: You will support the continuous improvement of team-internal as well as cross-departmental payroll processes, systems and interfaces.
  • Strategy & Development: You will define PayOps’ strategy and own initiatives/projects with the objective of sustainably increasing quality, efficiency, and flexibility in the Payroll Operations team. 
Role Requirements: What you need to succeed
  • You have a proven track record of 4+ years in a payroll-supporting role focused on end-to-end German payroll processing for a payroll provider or tax advisor
  • You have 2+ years leadership experience managing a customer-facing support team.
  • You have successfully hired and trained payroll specialists over 2+ years.
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset, and the highest standards for the quality of your work.
  • You are fluent in English and German, with a thoughtful, structured, and transparent communication style.
